Every piece of jewellery requires some love and care after purchase as many factors can influence the condition of jewellery. Here is a guide with some tips on how to best care for your pieces and how to keep them looking brand new.
Silver jewellery can tarnish over time, especially if not worn often. To remove and minimise any tarnish, we recommend using a soft lint-free cloth or use silver polish to clean sterling silver pieces to keep them looking shiny and lustrous.
Most people say the best way to keep your Silver pieces looking bright is simply to wear them as much as possible!
Gold-plated jewellery can be easily cleaned by gently rubbing the surface of your gold-plated jewellery using a soft jewellery cloth, helps restore shine or soak it in warm mildly soapy water if it needs more cleaning. Soak it for a few minutes and then rinse thoroughly and use a soft cloth to dry it.
Do NOT* use a polishing cloth as this will strip away the plating.
Coloured gemstones should be treated like diamonds. Wipe your gemstone jewellery with a soft cloth (can be dampened with mild soapy water or it can be dry) to get rid of any dirt accumulation. Allow the gemstones to air dry before storing in a soft pouch.
Pearls only require a dry cloth to keep them clean and should never come in contact with any chemicals.
However, what is most important is for you to enjoy wearing the jewellery and try not to stress too much as most things can be easily cleaned.
